Import data
Bring your past conversations, contacts, and notes from Zendesk or Help Scout into Elvo.
When you switch to Elvo you can bring your past conversations, contacts, and notes with you — from Zendesk or Help Scout — so the history isn't lost and you don't start from scratch.
Tip
Agent assignment is matched by email. So invite your team to Elvo before importing, so old tickets land with the right people.
Help Scout
Help Scout is imported directly via the API:
- In Help Scout: go to Your Profile → My Apps → Create My App and copy the App ID and App Secret.
- In Elvo: open the importer, paste the App ID and App Secret, and verify the credentials.
- Choose the mailbox you want to import.
- Click Start import. Elvo fetches conversations, contacts, and notes.
Zendesk
Zendesk is imported via export files:
- In Zendesk: create an export of your tickets, contacts, and notes (NDJSON files).
- In Elvo: open the importer and upload the files.
- Click Start import.
The difference, in short
- Help Scout — a direct API connection (App ID + App Secret); you pick a mailbox.
- Zendesk — you upload Zendesk's NDJSON export files.
After importing
Old tickets can be many. Use Close all open tickets in Organization settings to close them all at once so your inbox doesn't flood — you can undo it right after.
FAQ
Can I import more than once? Yes — you can choose Import again.
What if an agent doesn't exist in Elvo yet? Their tickets import unassigned; invite them first so assignment matches automatically by email.
