Connect Elvo to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot

Add Elvo to your AI assistant with one address, sign in, and ask about your conversations or let it draft replies.

You can connect Elvo to the AI assistant you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot. Then you can ask it about your work in plain language, for example:

  • "What are my open tickets about refunds this week?"
  • "Summarize the conversation with Anna Jónsdóttir."
  • "Draft replies for the three oldest open tickets."
  • "Which questions could the chat agent not answer this month?"

The connection uses MCP (Model Context Protocol), the standard way AI assistants connect to other services. You do not need a token or any code. You paste one address and sign in to Elvo. It works on every plan.

The address

https://elvo.is/mcp

You can also copy it from Settings → Profile in Elvo, or from Settings → API & agents if you are an admin.

Connect Claude

  1. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Paste the address above and click Add.
  4. Click Connect. Claude opens Elvo, where you sign in and approve the connection.
  5. In a chat, turn on the Elvo connector from the tools menu.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner first adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom. Members then find it under Customize → Connectors and click Connect.

Connect ChatGPT

Not every ChatGPT plan lets you add your own connector. Where it is allowed, open Settings → Plugins, turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings, click Create, and add the address above with OAuth sign-in. ChatGPT then opens Elvo, where you sign in and approve the connection.

If you do not see developer mode or a Create button, your ChatGPT plan or workspace does not allow custom connectors. On a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin can allow it under Workspace settings → Permissions & roles. Otherwise, use Claude. OpenAI changes these menus often, so check OpenAI's help center for the current steps.

Connect Microsoft Copilot

In Microsoft 365 Copilot, people do not add connectors themselves. An admin or maker adds Elvo as a Model Context Protocol tool to an agent in Copilot Studio and publishes the agent. Your Microsoft 365 admin can help with this.

What you approve

When you sign in, Elvo asks you to choose:

  • The organization, if you belong to more than one.
  • Read only or Read and write. With read only, the assistant can search and read conversations, contacts and reports. With read and write, it can also add internal notes, write drafts, and change status, assignee and tags.
  • Allow sending outside Elvo. This is off by default. When it is on, the assistant can also send replies to customers, add webhooks, invite people or give a removed user access again, add web pages as knowledge sources, make automation rules that forward email or send automatic replies, and turn on out-of-office email replies.

The assistant always acts as you. It can see and do only what you can see and do in Elvo.

Keep sending off unless you need it

The assistant reads your customers' messages, and a message can contain instructions written to trick an AI. Leave Allow sending outside Elvo off unless you need it. With it off, the assistant writes drafts that you review and send yourself. If you turn it on, Elvo refuses replies to addresses that are not already on the conversation, but the customer who wrote the message can still be the one who receives the reply. Read every reply before you confirm it.

Disconnect

Go to Settings → Profile in Elvo and click Disconnect next to the assistant. It loses access within a minute. An admin can see and disconnect every connection in the organization under Settings → API & agents.

You can also remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT, but that does not disconnect it in Elvo. Disconnect it in Elvo too.

Privacy

Elvo sends the assistant only the data you ask for. How the assistant's provider processes it is covered by that provider's terms. See the privacy policy for details.

For developers: the connector uses the same rules as the public API. To build your own agent that runs code, see Build your own AI agent with the API.
